Heart failure and its impact
You have been prescribed Entresto® (sacubitril/valsartan) because you have been diagnosed with chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. Heart Failure is a condition where your heart can't pump blood around your body as well as it should. It doesn't mean your heart has stopped working but you may need support to help it work better.2 This is the aim of your Entresto® treatment.
About sacubitril/valsartan and why it has been prescribed
The aim of this medicine is to combat the main symptoms of heart failure by relaxing the blood vessels and improving your heart’s ejection fraction, therefore allowing it to pump more efficiently.1 This medicine aims to increase the body’s natural defences against heart failure and it blocks the body’s natural system which has a harmful effect on the heart when over-activated, such as in heart failure.
Sacubitril/valsartan is prescribed for adult patients for treatment of symptomatic chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.

2| Stick to a schedule
Try to take this medicine at the same time each day. If you forget, you should simply take the next one at the next scheduled time. Do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you forgot to take.
